We learn to make decisions based on what worked in our dysfunctional family as a kid. That doesn't work in the real world. Unlearning dysfunctional ways of thinking/behaving takes real effort and hard work- then learning what works for the real world.... so many opportunities we screw up over the years!!!! And people don't understand. We want what you want- someone to care about us and someone to love. We just want to know that we matter to someone, when no one ever has. And then even when someone tells you they care, how can we believe it when so many have lied to us?
